Roelof is with Semtech since 2018 and is Senior Director Strategic Partnerships & Alliances for the WSP LoRa division, and is based out of Rapperswil, Switzerland. Before that Roelof held other positions in the IoT space, Managing Director Europe for MOJIX, a provider of passive RFID-based tracking solutions and VP of Product Marketing at SMARTRAC, a global leading manufacturer of RFID and NFC tags was. Prior to these IoT related positions, Roelof was founder/CEO of ASPECTRA, Switzerland’s first dedicated hosting company in 2000. Before that he was leading the e-Commerce Solutions group in Swisscom, and was part of the management team of Switzerland’s leading ISP, BlueWin. Roelof has the Dutch nationality, and has a Master’s degree in Industrial Design and Engineering at the University Of Delft, Netherlands.

How to get to the
SIX Convention Point
From Zurich main station (Zürich HB) take tram line 4, direction Altstetten. Coming from the station in Altstetten, take tram line 4, direction Tiefenbrunnen. From either direction get off at Sportweg. The SIX ConventionPoint is situated within the SIX building next to the tram stop.
The highway connections are a few minutes drive from the SIX ConventionPoint. There is a public pay parking at the Hard Turm Park garage, to be entered via Pfingstweidstrasse. In the garage follow the signs to building 110/SIX.
From Zurich airport to the SIX ConventionPoint it is approximately 20 minutes by Taxi. If you prefer public transport, take one of the trains to Zurich Hardbrücke. From there tram line 4 direction Altstetten takes you directly to the SIX ConventionPoint. Get off at Sportweg.

Matthias Inauen is the Director New Business Units at the Economic Development of the Canton of Zurich. He holds a PhD in Management and Economics from the University of Zurich. Previous to his current position, Matthias was working in business development of the ETH spin-off company Biognosys AG in the field of proteomics.
Yannik Kopp is a Cloud Architect and IoT expert within Microsoft supporting clients in implementing their IoT use cases. With a strong focus on LoRaWAN Yannik strives to enable his customers to create true business value out of their sensor data.
Christoph Studer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich in Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Studer received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from ETH Zurich in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Between 2009 and 2013, he held postdoctoral positions at ETH Zurich and Rice University in Houston, TX, USA. In 2014, he joined Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, as an Assistant Professor. From 2019 to 2020, he was an Associate Professor at Cornell University and Cornell Tech in New York City. In 2020, he relocated to ETH Zurich. Dr. Studer has published over 180 papers, is an inventor of 10 patents, and has received numerous awards from both academia and industry. His current research focuses on technologies for future wireless communication systems and digital integrated circuit design.
Marcel Mutschler is Digital Innovation Manager at F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG and responsible for the development & implementation of the Smart Building Vision at the Basel / Kaiseraugst site.
Saim Arslan graduated in 2013 with a master’s degree in mechanics, electronics and computer science with a focus on control engineering from the University of Applied Sciences OST, Switzerland. Since 2007, he has been working at Hawle Armaturen AG in the research & development of control and shut-off valves in the drinking water sector. Since 2016, he is the head of the department with the focus to implement and use digitalisation in combination with products for sustainable water resource management using his skills in mechatronic product development and automation technology.
Dr. Adrian Staufer studied electrical engineering (Bachelor), business administration (Master) at ETH Zurich, and “Advanced Manufacturing Systems” (Master) at Brunel University in London. He then completed his doctorate in innovation management at ETH Zurich.From 1998 to 2011, Adrian Staufer worked in various functions at Siemens Building Technologies in the area of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control technology. During this time, he worked and lived with his family in China for 5 years, where he set up a development and production site.From 2011 to 2016, Adrian Staufer worked for Schindler Aufzüge AG in Ebikon, most recently as Head of Internet of Elevators & Escalators and Remote Services.Adrian Staufer joined Belimo in 2016, initially for the development of the new business area of sensor technology. From 2019, he headed the Corporate Strategy and Brand Management division and was appointed a member of the extended Group Executive Committee.Since January 2022, Adrian Staufer has been Head of Belimo Europe, Middle-East, Africa (EMEA) and a member of the Group Executive Committee.Dr Adrian Staufer is also involved outside Belimo in topics relating to energy efficiency in buildings and is, among other things, a guest lecturer in building automation and Building IoT at the University of Zurich.
Director New Business Development and Innovation
After his studies at the HSLU, Reto Amstad worked for Siemens in the industrial security environment for 8 years where he helped to build up the business field in Switzerland. During his stint at Siemens he has supported numerous customer projects in the consulting and integration area. Since 2021, he has been advising customers from public authorities and industry in the areas of IT & OT security and IoT Security as a Senior Security Consultant at CyOne Security AG.
Ernst Schranz obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 and a Master’s degree in Industrial Technologies in 2014 from the FH NTB in Buchs SG, Switzerland. During his master studies he was working as a scientific employee at the FH NTB in Buchs SG. After his studies he started as a Development Engineer at TRUMPF Switzerland AG in 2014. In 2017 he moved to GRITEC AG as a Development Engineer and in 2020 he was promoted to the Head of Business Unit “System Innovation. This year Ernst Schranz has been named as the new CEO of GRITEC AG.
Ritalba Lamendola is Ambassador at Solar Impulse Foundation, Switzerland. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bari, Italy, and a Doctorate of Business Administration, DBA, from Grenoble Ecole de Management, France, with a thesis on Business Models in IoT.She is start-up Board Member and Director of EVEURA sarl, Switzerland, a boutique consulting company, advising start-ups on business model design to transition from prototype to first industrialization and scale-up.She contributes to academic research on Business Model and Entrepreneurial Behaviour in IoT start-ups, in collaboration with Grenoble Ecole de Management.She is member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Business Models, Denmark.She gained long past experience in senior management positions in high-tech Multinationals, such as STMicroelectronics, Oclaro Inc. and, Solvay.Before joining multinationals, she held a position of Assistant Professor at University of Bari and she authored several patents and peer-reviewed academic articles on plasma chemistry and material science.
Alex Raimondi received the Master in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the renowned ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2002. Since 2004, he has been leading the embedded design group of Miromico in order to develop advanced hardware – from high performance FPGA systems to ultra low power sensor devices. Currently, he is the director of the embedded design group at Miromico.Since 2015, he is also co-founder and CTO of Chip-ing, a high-tech start-up creating value through the intensive use of novel technologies. Currently, Chip-ing is developing the innovative golf 3.0 products.
Adrian Staudenmaier holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), Winterthur, Switzerland from 2003. Starting 2003 he worked at Alstom as a service engineer in the field of gas and steam turbine control systems. In 2015, Adrian joined EKZ (Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich) Energy Contracting as head of the control technology department. In 2019, he moved to Jobst Willers Engineering AG, where he successfully built up the Digital Building division. In addition, Adrian is currently completing the MAS program in Digital Transformation at the ZHAW.
Director Business Development and Operations at Tesenso
Passionate about global governance and sustainability, he joined the Solar Impulse Foundation in 2019. Since then, he has coordinated different projects with cleantech key stakeholders: experts, innovators and other the World Alliance members. Within the Operations team, he has helped to improve the processes for the Solar Impulse’s Labelling scheme, increasing its credibility and rapidity. In 2021, he launched Solar Impulse’s first Ambassador Program, aiming to expand its green advocacy efforts in different areas of the globe. He is currently working on improving the Foundation’s capacity of creating, organising and sharing knowledge both internally and externally. Ricardo holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Societies and Social Change from the University of Geneva in partnership with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Vincent Camus holds a PhD from the EPFL, Switzerland. He recently joined the Zurich team of Reexen Technology as Deep Learning Hardware Architect. His interests include low-power integrated circuits, precision-scalable computing, as well as embedded multimedia and AI processing.
Schekeb Fateh received the Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics from ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in 2015. From 2009 to 2015, he was working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Q. Huang, where he was leading a group of system and design engineers to develop VLSI circuits and systems for wearable healthcare devices where his research was funded by Nano-Tera.ch and SNF. In 2015, he started to lead the R&D of the fabless semiconductor SME ACP AG which is specialised in cellular communications chipsets in particular for the Chinese market. In 2017, he has started to work in the position of Business Development for the hardware design consulting company Miromico which is specialised on hardware design services and high-end IoT products. In 2021, he has started to work as Chief Executive Officer at Miromico.
Gabriel KAFI is currently leading a group of embedded software and security experts at CSEM. The group’s activities are focused on developing innovative IoT design concepts mainly on applications with ultra-optimized footprints in terms of resources and energy consumption. Previously, Gabriel KAFI worked for 20 years in THALES Group in a variety of assignments, from security expert to, most recently, managing a Thales Group subsidiary company focusing on cyber security consulting and evaluation for IoT markets such as automotive, smart metering infrastructure and critical security solutions.
Maximilian Roth is driving the business development for the new LPWAN standard mioty at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS and in the mioty alliance. He has more than 10 years of experience in evaluating and commercializing new technologies with partners from industry and research. His technological focus is on smart sensors, wireless communication as well as Energy Harvesting.
